Lindenwood Met Gala 2025: Living Art

Project type

Fashion

Date

2025

For this event, my inspiration was Claude Monet's famous "Water Lillies" painting. I ordered a basic blue stretchy dress online to represent the water background and used my mannequin to make changes to the dress. I added the green sparkle fabric to look like lily pads. I created a slit and gaps at the waist to look like the triangular gaps on the lily pads. I sewed on fake pink flowers, a pink fuzzy scarf, and pink tulle to represent the pink aspects of the painting. For the styling of the dress, I added a pink floral ribbon scarf, more roses in the hair, floral hat, and gogo boots to also bring out the pink. I added the fake vines as the reflection of nature in the water in the painting. The blue sparkly face paint is meant to match the water. The photoshoot and set dressing were done by Lindenwood Fashion Society. My outfit was displayed in the glass case at the Lindenwood fashion building.
